Letter of Reference
Date: 20 August 2026
To Whom It May Concern,
Reference for the Cooperation Between Uganda Helping Hands and Green-Ocean e.V. We are pleased to provide this letter of reference for Green-Ocean e.V. and to formally describe our cooperation with the organization and its representatives over the past several years.
Uganda Helping Hands has been working in cooperation with Green-Ocean e.V. since 2022. What began with a small community gardening initiative has gradually developed into a broader partnership focused on sustainable community development, humanitarian support, empowerment, and creating practical opportunities for vulnerable people.
Throughout our cooperation, Green-Ocean e.V. has demonstrated a strong commitment to supporting locally driven initiatives while allowing the community and its representatives to identify needs and develop appropriate solutions.
Nature of Our Cooperation
Our cooperation has taken several forms, including financial and material support for community projects, project guidance, communication, experience-sharing, community development advice, and international networking.
Rather than limiting its support to financial contributions, Green-Ocean e.V. has maintained an ongoing relationship with Uganda Helping Hands and has encouraged us to develop projects that can become increasingly sustainable and community-driven.
1. Community Gardening and Agriculture
One of our earliest activities together was a community gardening project, initiated in 2022 with local community members.
The project was designed to address food insecurity while encouraging people to work together and make productive use of available land. Harvests were shared among community members who were experiencing difficulties accessing sufficient food.
This experience became an important foundation for our cooperation. It demonstrated how relatively small-scale agricultural initiatives can provide both immediate assistance and opportunities for longer-term self-reliance.
Green-Ocean e.V. has continued to encourage agricultural initiatives, including maize farming and other community-based farming activities, as part of our broader approach to food security and sustainable livelihoods.
2. Water and Community Infrastructure
Another significant example of our cooperation has been support for community water access.
With support from our German partners, an underground well project was undertaken to help communities experiencing limited access to reliable water sources. The project represented an important investment in community well-being and demonstrated our shared belief that development should address practical needs that directly affect people's daily lives.
Such projects also illustrate the importance we place on infrastructure that can continue benefiting communities beyond the period of external financial support.
3. Vocational Skills and the Tailoring Project
Green-Ocean e.V. has also supported our efforts to develop vocational and income-generating opportunities, particularly through the tailoring initiative.
The tailoring project is intended to equip women and other vulnerable community members with practical skills that can help them generate income and become more economically independent.
The project has faced practical challenges, including limited training space, equipment maintenance, and the need for additional materials. However, the continued cooperation and encouragement from our partners have helped us maintain the objective of developing the project into a stronger vocational training initiative.
4. Support for Vulnerable Children and Families
Our cooperation also extends to humanitarian activities supporting orphans, vulnerable children, women, and disadvantaged families.
Uganda Helping Hands has undertaken activities involving the provision of scholastic materials, sanitary supplies, food-related support, and other essential assistance. We are working toward a model in which humanitarian assistance is combined with education, skills development, agriculture, and livelihood opportunities so that beneficiaries are not only supported in times of need but are also given opportunities to become more self-reliant.
5. Project Advice and Organizational Development
An important part of our relationship with Green-Ocean e.V. has been the exchange of advice and experience.
Our partners have provided guidance regarding project development, organizational structure, communication, fundraising, transparency, and the practical challenges involved in running community initiatives.
This has been particularly valuable as Uganda Helping Hands has progressed from a small grassroots initiative toward a more formally structured organization.
Green-Ocean e.V. has encouraged us to strengthen our internal systems, clarify responsibilities, communicate openly with members and supporters, and develop projects based on realistic community needs.
Communication and Transparency.
Transparency and communication are important elements of our cooperation.
Green-Ocean e.V. maintains several communication channels and theme-based social media groups through which information about projects, development activities, community needs, health-related information, and other relevant subjects can be shared.
These platforms provide opportunities for supporters and project partners to remain informed, exchange ideas, follow developments, and discuss challenges.
From the perspective of Uganda Helping Hands, this open communication has helped strengthen trust and accountability within our partnership.
We have also maintained regular communication with representatives of Green-Ocean e.V. regarding project progress, challenges, future plans, and opportunities for cooperation.
A Partnership Built on Local Initiative
One of the strongest aspects of our cooperation is the recognition that local people should play a central role in solving local problems.
Uganda Helping Hands identifies community needs, works with local members and volunteers, coordinates activities, and implements projects on the ground. Green-Ocean e.V. provides international partnership, organizational guidance, financial or material support where possible, and a broader network through which our work can be communicated and developed.
This approach allows projects to remain connected to the actual circumstances of the communities they are intended to serve.
Commitment to Responsible Use of Support
We recognize that financial and material support from partners carries a significant responsibility.
Uganda Helping Hands therefore seeks to ensure that resources provided for projects are directed toward their intended purposes. Project activities are discussed, planned, implemented, and followed up through the organization's leadership and project teams.
As our organization continues to develop, we are strengthening our financial management, documentation, reporting, and organizational systems to ensure that future donor and partner support can be managed with an even higher level of accountability.
Our Experience With Green-Ocean e.V.
Based on our experience over the years, we consider Green-Ocean e.V. to be a committed, supportive, and development-oriented partner.
Their contribution to Uganda Helping Hands has gone beyond individual donations or isolated projects. The cooperation has involved continued communication, project support, advice, encouragement, international networking, and a genuine interest in seeing locally led initiatives develop.
The partnership has helped us move from small community activities toward a broader vision involving education, vocational empowerment, agriculture, water access, humanitarian assistance, sustainable livelihoods, and community development.
We are grateful to Green-Ocean e.V., its leadership, committee members, supporters, and volunteers for the confidence they have placed in Uganda Helping Hands and for their continued willingness to work alongside us.
We are particularly appreciative of the principle behind our cooperation: support should help communities build their own capacity and create sustainable solutions rather than create permanent dependence.
Recommendation
Uganda Helping Hands is therefore pleased to recommend Green-Ocean e.V. to potential sponsors, donors, development partners, volunteers, and other organizations interested in supporting transparent and community-driven development initiatives.
Our experience demonstrates that Green-Ocean e.V. approaches cooperation with commitment, communication, practical support, and a willingness to work closely with local partners.
We believe that organizations considering cooperation with Green-Ocean e.V. can regard its partnership approach as one based on trust, transparency, sustainability, local participation, and long-term community development.
We look forward to continuing and strengthening our cooperation in the years ahead and to expanding the opportunities available to vulnerable communities through joint efforts.
Together, we can make a difference.
Yours faithfully,
